inquire about my life and all it entails...

my name is lily! my screen name is wiwy, pronounced like lily but with W's

i was born in january 2001 (yes, i zoomer) in wuhan, china. i was adopted in 2002 and lived in the midwest for a few years before moving to cali.

i started using a computer as early as possible, probably around 5 or 6 years old? i played a lot of club penguin and educational flash games! i remember a time when i wanted to learn how to make a web browser in visual studio basic, and made one just so i could play club penguin LOL. i also was ispired by these flash games to make my own website, but i didn't know how :(

i got into pokemon platinum around 2008 and from there got into the pokemon spriting community (now called pokemon fusions). that was my first big foray into "social media", like deviantArt and youtube. the aquablade chronicles were literally the biggest thing ever, and i was lucky enough to be around when new episodes were coming out in 2009. this series spawned a TON of copycat sprite series, including many of my own.

i moved to california around this time as well and started really leaning into my "gamer" side. i met a lot of friends in school who also liked to play on the computer, and i got addicted to wizard101 with my sister and our mutual friend (i came back to wizard101 in 2022 and realized just how easy the game was and how DUMB we were as kids not being able to get very far LOL).

i also started getting super ballsy with my online presence and began making internet friends. many of these people i have not spoken to in over a decade, but i'm glad i got to share some games and fun skype called (yes, skype....) with them!

2011 rolled around and i was still into pokemon spriting. i wasn't so heavily involved in the community through art, but i did like to chat up people about sprites and series and games. and then one fateful day... this pokemon sprite channel started uploading MINECRAFT videos! my friend's brother was also playing minecraft, so i BEGGED my parents to let me buy the game to play with them. and so began my next major phase in life, which was not unlike the youth of today!
